What kind of internet connection do you have?

Postby Adamal » Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:31 am

2 choices.

Dial up modem

Everything else :P

Dialup doesn't include things like 3G wireless.

Cable all the way 8)
Currently:4Mb/2Mb
Soon to be: 10Mb/2Mb

How many people on telecom end up with 64k connections after going over their caps? Thats beyond a joke if you ask me! I've been asked by someone why their computers are sooooo f**king slow when in fact its because they have blown their telecom cap and are basically @ 56k speeds (if that) At least make it still useable when someone goes over their cap.

One of the 'slow' computers was a brand new i5 System I had just had them built / OT

ADSL2+ on an unlimited data plan, no interleaving and on the non data managed IP pool.

I don't download much except a bit of TV series.
Game a lot though, moderately high ranked PVP in world of warcraft
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

I’m on bigtime with Telecom, not too far from Luke with 12mbps down and 1mb up – torrents are between 8 and 400 KB/s from 9am til 2am but you can still do a solid 10+gb a night (if you don’t run out of HD space like I have).
Unlimited is pretty good to have – I uploaded 80gb or so before the usage meters broke.

It’s balls for gaming though, ping can vary greatly.

Hah, I thought it was a strange coincidence. I apologise to the 2 people who are still suffering on dial up for my comments

Lol - could set up an Asian porn syndicate you reckon?

The interesting thing is that as far as I can tell we haven't been cabineted so in a few months I should be up to 15+mbps with much lower attenuation than I currently have.

I can't afford a phone line let alone internet. :( Have to borrow the net at my brothers or my girlfriends places. They both have broadband.
