The Saddle Road Hillclimb returns! November 28th

Postby Truenotch » Tue Nov 17, 2009 2:27 pm

Saturday November 28th see's the return of the Saddle road Hillclimb. This is the first time it has been run since the 2004 floods! Now that the bridge has been rebuilt and the weather has eased up we are ready to run again! The club has booked in for fine weather, so don't miss out.

Thanks to Turners Auctions Palmerston North for their support of the event:

The road is made up if 4.5km of twisty tarmac roads - overlooking the Manawatu region. It's a great event to watch with several spectator points between the start and the finish. Runs start at River road on the Ashhurst side of the hill, finishing at the old quarry near the summit.

This event places race, rally, classic, road and club cars in a head to head battle for "king of the mountain" bragging rights. Who will be the fastest?

We are still taking entries for the event. A clubsport license is required and cars must comply to the regulations.

Entries recieved before Monday Nov 23 are $100 and late entries are $125.

This ended up being a great event! The rain came along but everyone carried on. 1 Saker through a fence but that's about all there is to report. 33 entries, great range of cars and a good atmosphere. Bring on next year!

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.
