Safest bet: Just don't get one. They're a pain when things go wrong

Yeah Mr2 in my opnion is never going to be a short term thing, you either drive it for a year or 2 and sell it cheap before things go wrong, or bank on replacing all the usual things that go wrong or fail due to age

- HT Leads @ 100,000
- Cap n rotor Every 20,000
- Fuel pump @ 200,000
- Big Ends worn @200,000
- Clutch, Rear Main Seal @200,000
- Suspension bushes, springs and shocks usually rooted by 180,000
- Aircon expansion valve behind dash = R134a conversion $1200 all up

THis is just a few items ive encountered on my Mr2 which now has 230,000 kms and ive owned it since 116,000.

There is nothing wrong with the prefacelift SW20s, just something wrong with the people who own them and dont maintain them LOL.

If a car is looked after, it'll look after you - or something like that...
