It's your headgasket of course.

Replace the cap with a new one.
If its still blowing water out, you could have a blown head gasket and its blowing into the cooling system.
One test to try:
Wait till the radiator has cooled so you can take the cap off without the water exploding out. While the cap is off, run the engine. It it makes bubbles in the water, the head gasket is blown.

hmm bled the cooling system up and no more bubbles than expected we will see if it does it again its funny if it was a blown head gaskit i would have expected it to have goten hot atleast once since ive owned it (it only did this in the last week or 2) no water in the oil i did a oil change last week and its sweet as and its never used any water apart from now and it doesnt blow any smoke

Checking for bubbles in the system IMO isnt really a positive way to check for a leaking headgasket and can be a bit misleading. TK check or leakdown would be more accurate.

unless its completely obvious.

I would replace the cap first, It doesnt sound like a flow prob as it would be overheating frequently. check that your fans are cycling also.

i presume you are certain that there is not a leak somewhere else.

i guess if you diagnose BHG often enough sooner or later it will be right

you wont always get puddles. pressure test is best, and you'll want to test the old cap too
