Rear Brake Balance

Postby Kittah » Tue Jan 05, 2010 5:32 pm

So I returned from my attempt at a WoF and failed on my rear brake balance, as the driver's side is significantly lower.

I've taken it to a brake specialist and they've given me a quote for how much it'll cost to repair their assumption of the problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on what it could be, without me saying what I've been told it could be :P

leaking brake cylinder or axle seal on the side that is lowest, take the wheel and drum off and have a look for dampness etc
When in doubt, down and out.

take it for a thrash and give the brakes a bit of death, heating them up tends to even them out

Glad someone finally informed the guy of the problem. :)

On a more serious note, take it to the shop, less hassle for everyone 8)
