What's the chance of getting a Run-X over 180km/h at the track anyway...unless it's Pukekohe

Axle stands.

IMHO Advocating such a dangerous method of testing is stupid in the extreme and even surpasses some of your previous efforts

rsm can do it, hks sld can do it - both will cost $200+

fivebobs method will work - will cost $2 and a little time

or you could drive it on the track and see if you actually hit speedcut - no point fixing a problem you may not have yet :P

Actually a few years back I was invited by a local dragcar owner (Graham Alexander) to watch his methanol big blog Chev dragster get fired up for the first time on a new motor . Guess how it's done with real racecars, you know, you need to load the motor up but you can't drive it on the road and you're nowhere near a track.
No idea.

FWIW,

Cutting the speed sensor wire, while the car is on the speed limiter,

will kill the car until you cycle the ign.

(on ST165 anyway)

And have seen it done on a two post hoist, but only way I'd recommend it is a track test.

Also I have a spped cut defender in my Ae111 20V carib.
Testing with the scan tool and live data on a road test,
shows that the speed that the ECU reads is normal and correct all the way up too 72 kmh,
and from then on all the ecu reads is 72kmh no matter what speed you do.

First car of mine that I have actually fitted a proper devide too
rather than a switch on the dash to kill the signal,
and also the only car Ive owned that I have never had anywhere near speed cut.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i made up the chip and it works ( i did not illegaly or dangoursly test it as some people suggested.)

i pluged my works scan tool in and went for a drive and the speedo and the scan tool both read 50 kph and 100 kph respectivly.
i than wired in the chip which i made a pcb board for and put in a fancy pcb box. i then tested it with the scan tool again. the speedo reads 50 kmh and the scan tool reads 25 kph thanks every one for your help and if anyone would like one pm me and i can make you up one for a small cost.
