best place for intake temp sensor?

Postby themaleman » Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:08 pm

ok after changing my ecu the car runs now, no more error 12 :D
now getting error 24,
24 Intake air Temp Sensor Signal
Diagnosis
* Open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor signal (THA).
Trouble Area
* Intake air temp sensor circuit
* Intake air temp sensor
* ECU

turns out there isnt one on my 4age intake manifold, now im wondering if the position of this sensor makes a difference? befor t/b or after?

nah its a late madel ae92, map sensored. i have the sensor off the old s/c intake, just needa know where bouts to put it

i would prefur to put it on the intercooler piping so i can take a section off and drill the whole and be able to vacume out the drilled metal

just a question....... wouldn't drilling a hole in the intake pipe after the turbo possibly cause a boost leak?

just after the throttle body in the intake manifold if you can.

I have it about 10cm before the TB, at idle all the air builds up in there, and gets crazy warm, while the engine's actually taking air from the cooler Idle bypass valve. Also air velocity is quite slow during very light throttle, although the airmass per volume will be greater...

but then my intake pipe is right above the engine....... but then I've put on Greddy reflective cloth over it.....

too much variables, Got pics of your setup? :D

Yeah I know.. I can't find a pigtail for the sensor locally (yet).
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
