Same with all genuine parts to be honest.
in the last coupla years the Jap makers have tried to egt prices down, Subaru Nissan and Honda have all made steps to improve things.
Funnily enough they were doing it to match what Toyota were doing with trade grade and 2nd hand parts.
i have to concur with this,
i had to replace all my axle bolts and cv boot after a miss-hap on my jzx100 ( which tnz must hate has they never carry anything for my chassis, but this dosnt bother me )
the bolts were just on $4 retail
the sp washer was $13 retail
and the boot was $90 but i got it for $60
and it was all ex tnz ( for a change hahaha )
part prices will always be all over the place, its a fact of life, if you start comparing other makes and brands with costs you start to get in a pricing war and no one wins, just a whole lot of pple losing out

trade discount is 15% so not a lot left for dealers!
30% to 15% is std practise with dam near every dealership be it trucks/cars/tractors and motor bikes
if you dont need it in a hurry most places do stock orders and you will get 40% off
just my two cents, my car has alot of TRD/TOM'S items in it, 80% of them specialy brought in for me ex tnz, and the prices that i got charged where very very fair, and worked out cheaper than importing them ex japan myself
