1998 Caldina Cabin Filter

Postby BZG Wagon » Sun Jan 31, 2010 4:21 pm

1) Did they come with them?
2) If so - where is it?

Took the glove box out and couldn't find one where the fan unit is. Took out the fan and it's caked in dust & leaves. Wonder is there should be a filter sitting inside it? Surely there will be a filter somewhere - under the bonnet where it draws outside air from possibly?

It's a GTT if that makes any difference.

Any ideas?

There are two of them according to the EPC, but I think they might be after the fan :?

Hmm... I might keep looking then.

There are two padded flaps which open/close when fresh or recirculating air is selected, but I wouldn't have picked them as filters.

I gave the plastic fan a clean - it was disguisting. Thick black, dusty tar-like stuff came off & it stunk to high-hell.
Not sure if it was due to the previous owner being a smoker or just build up over the years (probably both).

Only one's Ive ever seen have been after the fan,

and they are not very common at all.

had lots of dash's out and apart over the years, but not a lot of filters.

Have replaced heaps of fans motors that are jammed with leaves and burnt out though,

You wont find many in older vehicles but all newer cars have them
If you have a look there might be a flap just above the fan where a panel style filter could be housed if so there might a drawer to pull out and the filter sits in there.
