Yea duno what they gave you but if they had to crimp then. Then they are def not the right sort of fitting.

A crimped hose is be fine.
I mean it works for 5000psi+hydraulic systems!
Sounds to me as if they were not crimped correctly or the hose and fittings were not compatibale with each other.

Crimped fittings have a barb or tube inside, just instead of the screw on outer and olive they use a different way to secure them.
