1991 ae101 trueno query to pick your brains with

Postby sik_gt_starly » Thu Feb 11, 2010 9:04 pm

hey guys

car is 1991 ae101 trueno with silvertop 20v 4age

jacked car up this afternoon to replace powersteering/aircon belt, replaced belt and re tensioned etc all fine.

went to turn car over and appeared battery was flat, volt gauge reading under 9 volts, car is turning over sounding like battery is flat, also makes sound like car is not making compression.

put battery on charger and it appeared to be charged.

since it sounded like no compression, i had crazy idea cambelt might have snapped, took cam cover offtension on inlet side is fine, top is fine, however cambelt tension on exhaust is loose as, can freely move it back n forth with hand.

im not sure if this has just happened (its my $500 trueno that i dont really give a crap about, just put oil n gas in it and keep it legal) could have been loose for long time and i wouldnt have known. maybe there is another problem aswell?

thanks in advance for all your help

Paul
