spare tire well

hey guys i was just wondering what needs to be done if you cut the spare tire well out of an 82 starlet.
do i need to get a new plate welded in place or can it be riveted in place and also do i need to get a cert for this?

yes must get the cert , can't wait till ya finally get the beast road legal.

might need a repair cert from a panelbeater if it is a structural modification, which is separate to a LVVT cert - but about the same price. UNLESS you can get the LVVT certifier to OK it as part of a "modification".

I had to get a repair cert for a couple of small rust repairs in my sills. took it to the panelbeater who had a look at some of the other mods on the car and said they should be tidied up if he were certing them, but they were modified to fit the radiator in and mentioned in the LVVT cert so not the panelbeaters problem :lol:
