With working on the motorways quite a bit i get really pissed off with people not obeying the speed restrictions and the related signage - they are there for a reason.

With people not working on the roads when you go through it - did you think maybe thery are having a break :)

I have taken a few mates out working with me and they are shocked how dangerous it is out there - People are stupid - thats it!

Another thing with motorway time restrictions - you try build a road with a 8 hour (9pm - 5am) window. I bet you guys will be the first to moan when you join the rush hour in the morning and start whinging that the road works are taking too long.

snwtoy wrote:Nothing personal, but I'm glad they stopped you. I'm sick of people speeding through the 70 section as if the posted limit doesn't apply to them. Cops should patrol that section of motorway a lot more often, there's a shedload of money to be made in fines though there.

And I hope you're next

amen brother theres nothing fun about having cars drive past you at 70-80km an hour 2metres away from you while trying to work. i have found in general woman (and old people male or female) who stuff up in road works simply are confused and dont know what to do so they panic and go down wrong lane etc men just speed and cut lanes etc because they dont give a *&^% and they think they know better.

99 out of 100 times you will be fine.... good luck for the hundreth time when you drive a 100km through that site and their working there....

sh*t I'm in the wrong job. I only get a morning tea, hour for lunch and then a afternoon break. Wish I could have as many as they do!

Through the 'NZ Police' you have to make a lump sum payment. Through the 'courts' you can pay it off weekly

and about 3 posts back you were asking why they charge an extra $30 for....

I think you need to explain why paying it off over time has any relation to the $30 'court costs'?

There's no way that bit of road could have been realistically re-sealed in 24 hours.
After all we are in NZ, where labour and OSH regulations demand that there's triple the required staffing to each job, and each labourer spends 80% of their time leaning on his shovel, aimlessly standing around scratching his nuts, discussing last nights league match and making that all-important decision whether its gonna be a steak and cheese or mince pie for the next break...all on $23/hour.

mind you this hasn't got much to do with that bit where the OP got busted. You'd have to be trying pretty damn hard to hit any roadworkers there...like drive over a 2m high concrete wall for a start.

Because to get to the point of paying it off, it has to go to the collections department. As soon as it does that, you can talk to them about paying it off, and it also incurs extra fees.

How much you got :P hehe
I'm still thinking about selling it, not sure yet.
Maybe if I get a nice offer, then who knows.

because the court administers the whole process of you paying it off. It could possibly cost the courts (tax payers) more than $30 for the entire process.
