Tuners in the waikato

Post by bbq1988 »

Hey guys, I am looking at finding a tuner to do my base tune to run my car in, i would like to keep it in the waikato (Hamilton Rotorua or Tauranga)

Has anyone had any experience with any tuners around these ways?

Cheers, Harley

Give Dave at DTech in Tauranga a call, he used to work for Link & still does bits & pieces for them. can be hard to get hold of as he's overseas a bit. Haven't got his number handy but can probably get it if needed.

Else do what alot of other guys from down there do & just bring the thing to Auckland.

Yeah Cartune is great I can vouch for that, they have done thousands of $$$ worth of work on the MR2, they really know their stuff when it comes to performance cars.

Wayne is really on to it.

Brent from Dynopower has worked with dyno's for years. his knowledge, combined with Geoffrey Nicholson's wealth of knowledge make for a great team. they have tuned all my cars. tuned my 2jzgte cressida to over 400kw on a standard long block which was safe as houses and took an absolute beating and still came back for more. tuned my s13 silvia with a standard blacktop sr20, Gt28 and fuel pressure reg to 220kw, my 1jzgte hilux. My cousin has a 89 lancer with a 4g63T, speedfactor installed a V5 link on it and 'road tuned' it. when we first ran it up, it made 156 4wkw. by the time brent had finished, it made close to 260 4wkw.

They also have the advantage of having an in house rolling road 4WD dyno... which dave from DTECH doesnt.

Definately agree with you there Yems, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else except Dynopower for tuning. The combination of Brent and Geoff for knowledge, diagnosis and ability is second to none in my opinion.
