BZ jerk

Postby panda_dan » Mon Feb 22, 2010 5:20 pm

My father-in-law has a BZ touring corolla wagon 5 speed.

When he bought it he rang me and said he'd bought a 'tidy black corolla'

haha

One problem with it, when he's decelerating, it jerks

Any ideas as to what could cause this?

- Engine mounts might be cracked or worn

- The basic tuning items may need replacing (air filter, spark plugs, plug leads) - I doubt it will be this as it's well serviced

- TPS sensor faulty or incorrectly set

- Wheel imbalance or one of the front brakes might be pinching harder than the other

- Faulty oxygen sensor

Anything else i should check ?

have a search for "blacktop AND lurch" or "blacktop AND hesitation" (this one may not apply) or "blacktop AND deceleration" and combinations of the above.
I am certain this has been covered before.

at a long shot maybe something to do with the clutch plate centre failing?
