Whose keen for some racing? *** 12th April ***

Ok, Its been nearly 2 years since somebody last did something that involved go-karts, So.....

I have just been at Daytona talking with the boss about another racing evening. Basicly it will not be a series, it will be done in 1 night and everybody will be racing individually, NOT as teams.

It will be run in a similar format to a grand prix. Warm up, qualifying, 2 heats and a final.

The races will be run as follows:

Heat 1: Grids will be selected as per your qualifying times. so fastest is on pole and so forth.

Heat 2:These grids will be decided by using the qualifying lap times and fastest laps from heat 1 to give us the positions for the second heat.

Final: This will be run in reverse grid using the points acquired from heats 1 and 2 to decide positions.

To add an extra level of complication to it (and to secure the price) we need at least 12 entries so we can run 2 groups of 6.

Everybody will do their qualifying this will give us a top and bottom group with 6 racers each, we will then run the fast groups first heat, then the slow groups first heat.

Now if at this point you are in the slow group because you had a dreadfull practice, but in the first race you get a fast lap time, there is a good chance you will moved up into the fast group for the second race.

Also the slow group will still get full points for 1st, 2nd etc if you do get slowed down in the practice you can still work your way into the fast group for the final by winning the slower groups races.

It does get quite complicated and what i have written makes sence in my head but may not to anybody else, so if you have any questions ask, if i dont know the answer ill find out :D

It will be run on most likely a monday or tuesday night

It will cost $25 per person, each race will be 20 laps, so thats a practice and 3 x 20 lap races for less than what you would normally pay to do a 15 min race!

Daytona have also said they will supply us a trophy for the winner!

So, what I need are numbers if we can confirm 12 people then I will go ahead and set a date and we can go from there

P.S. 12 people is a minimum, if we can get more then it gets all the more exciting!
