Tonight I'm going to make some heat shields to protect some brake hard lines, and my brake master cylinder and my clutch master cylinder and some power steering lines that are close to hot exhaust parts.
My main problem is where my waste gate is compared to 2 of my brake lines. See pic below.

The pic doesn't really show too much as I took it for another purpose. but you can at least see how close my wastegate is to a couple of my brake lines. The closest point is probably about 10mm away.
I've got some heat shield stuff that's the same as what Matt's using (sorry Matt for stealing you pic


I'm in the same boat as him for the waste gate pretty much.
My question is this; is this heat shielding material going to be good enough? And should the gap be the same on either side? Or should the shield be closer to the hot item or the one I'm trying to keep cool?
