ae101 powersteering belt, no aircon

Postby sik_gt_starly » Wed Mar 03, 2010 6:01 pm

car - 1991 ae101 trueno

Im after a powersteering belt for above car with removed aircon.

Repco here in whakatane wernt very helpful at all and said i had to measure it myself etc and come back to them with the size since they didnt have a 5pk belt on their system for an ae101 with no aircon.

anyone know part number or length etc of belt i will need?

aircon motor is still in place, it is siezed and dont wanna go through hassle of removing anything, would just rather not have a belt going to it.

thanks tons everyone in advance

can you not get a bit of string around the pulleys and measure that. Thats what i did to size mine with the aircon completely removed?

Err, from memory there is a listing on their Smart catalogue for no a/c. Sounds like you were dealing with a moron.
Again from memory its a 5PK0955 but dont quote me on that

i dont think there was an option for no aircon with 4ages, thats more than likely why repcos systems dont show up with anything

Yeah but enough people have removed aircon to have the option. Used to be in the old Repco catalogue.

i just got the belt on as good as i could by hand and then cranked the engine, without starting it.
like a bike chain.

worked like a charm.

if you cant get it on put it around the crank pulley then half way over the p/s pulley and cable tie it to the pulley then wind it over, Cable tie stops the belt trying to pull off easy.

Have found that exceeding 9500rpm causes ribs to brake off the belt's
