external and dsbc install questions

Postby deaf_rattle » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:41 pm

looking at plumbing in my vacuum lines.
I have found the following information
wastegate (tial 44mm v band)
http://www.tialmedia.com/documents/w3_t ... nstall.pdf
ebc (blitz dsbc)
http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/inde ... _id=145122

from what i can gather, i need to plumb the bottom (side) port of the wastegate to the intake manifold
Image
The top port goes to the "out" of the dsbc and the in port to ebc comes from the manifold?

or have i got that wrong?

cheers

Kind of right.

I have been playing with EBC's a bit lately and am keen to hear how you get on as I am looking at getting another/better EBC.

You need to take a feed from somewhere between the Turbo and the Throttle,
the pressure feed for the actuator unit must not be from the intake manifold as it will cause massive problems at part throttle.

Take one feed and add a T piece. one feed goes direct to the bottom port of the wastegate, the one easy to see in your picture,
so it recieves full boost pressure all the time.

The other end of the T piece feeds into the SBC solenoid unit,
and then from the out of the solenoid unit to the top port on the wastegate,
which is just kind of visable behind the wasetgate in your picture.

You will also need a vacuum/boost signal from the inlet manifold to the control unit.

A T piece is best as then the feed that you are using on both sides of the diaphram are getting the same pressure when required.

Most important fact in preventing it destroying an engine

DONT USE A PLASTIC T PIECE, BUY A BRASS ONE.
