I have my one just behind the rear bumper.

Which would then pressurise the fuel tank, wouldn't it? (Unless there's a one-way valve in the charcoal canister)
Bazda wrote:Ok i'm a little confused..
Do the charcoal canisters vent pressure from the tank, or do they let the tank suck in air? Or it does both?
I thought that when you open the fuel cap after a long run its sucking air into the fuel tank not venting it out? As the fuel pump is sucking petrol from the tank therefore that space needs to be replaced by air...

I'd like to remove mine - but don't want to just vent to the atmosphere for fear of the gases building up in certain areas and igniting.
Am I being paranoid?
What would a track marshal think of such things?
What do 'race cars' do?
