what are my options beside getting a new one from Japon?
Can an engineering place grind what's little of it left and weld a new thread on?

Or pop out the ball from it's joint and have new joint made?

Why dont you want a new one? They're not exactly dear. Aftermarket ones wont be ex Japan either

The aftermarket ones won't fit because these are specific to TEIN coilovers, which is about 3cm shorter, and I don't wanna swap both sides out when the other side is good.

I need it for a WOF, so kinda urgent, last time autolign charged me $80 for one of the platform adjusting rings for my coilovers, which is a very simple piece of metal, I can't imagine what they'll charge for a rod with 2 ball joints!

You can get adjustable ones aftermarket ;)

I had a look at the twosrus ones, looks skinny compared to the TEIN ones i have, although where it's rusted on the teins are kinda skinny.... the ends on the teins looks beefy and the middle main rod is "hella phat" too.

the factory ones are way longer than I thought, if I put them on both sides i'll be hitting the lower arm.

Those golden ones, i have found that they tend to snap at the welds between the shaft and the round end.... Snapped two so far. Never again...lol

Autolign DID replace my first set free of charge. Excellent bunch of people. But on the second time around, I couldn't be stuffed fixing it to snap again...

My actual links didn't snap

But they were too short, so it snapped the bracket off the coilover. If the sway bar link must be pretty tough for it not to snap

What, when people are speaking of MR2's? :P

I know that BNT have various different lengths available, as I had to buy some for the now $&#$% daily SW. They were about $40 for a pair I think. As opposed to $350 EACH from Toyota :P

a decent engineering company will have them on the shelf if R/H thread or o/nite for L/H thread. about $40 retail.
