A series 8 FD RX-7 for sure. Spirit R would be nice also, but I totally wouldnt turn down a S8 RZ.

Go you Phil! Ditto here, except I want White

I think that this is a realistic goal. Plus I can turn it into a hillclimb car later if I wanted and still have cash left over. Unlike if I bought a Porsche.

Off the top of my head:

Faster, wider, different wheels, new interior and generally cost more atm.

I haven't done too much reasearch into what differences there are between an 8 and 9.

All I really know is the looks appeal to me and IMO they look the best out of the STi range, except for maybe the Ver 6 or 22b. They can sound great and have potential.

Never driven one but wish I could.

Yeah thats pretty much 10/10 they also inherited the suspension geometry from the version 8 spec C. I have driven 3 and all three times I practically cried when I had to give the car back. For me they are automotive nirvana.

Nothing terribly exciting in the next 5 - 10 years, because I don't tend to have large amounts of funds that can be tied up in a car.

Maybe gen 3 MR2, or an ITR. Both should be fun to drive, but not silly expensive (or likely to depreciate horribly).

Yeah I have to admit I quite like the look of them and they seem to go ok, anyone know what the reliability of the things is like? I have had them and EVO 9s go through my head as a bit of a fun 4door next beasty...

Actually, how about one of those 'Busa V8 engines? Like they have in the Radical SR8!

Yea that'd be choice, but will still do 0-100 in under 3sec's just with the turbo 4pot

my unrealistic dream car would be an M3 CSL.

Also wouldnt mind one of thoes VE Maloo Utes for fun/towing the fraser 7 lol

Think ill be sticking to my toyota's for awhile thoe

Looks very "S" series to me. no such thing as a 4cyl Lexus engine

It's a Beams 3SGTE.

Realistic dream car will be the AE86 when it's going again....

If I sold both the Starlet and the Legnum I could afford to get either an Evo or a GTR, either will suffice. Neither are cars for the dogs so they would have to go as well

The GD shape which is version 7 onwards are actually known for their reliability, the 6 speeds in them are pretty much indestructable unless you seriously abuse them, much stronger than the evo 6 speeds anyway (Hence why the most powerful evo 9's come with 5 speeds). Also all the version 7 onwards impreza's get a 4/5 star safety rating.

Mint and orginal HQ with 202 and coloumn shift mmmmm

or a unmolested, rust free(!!) mint 1600 5speed manual EX Lancer (in red).. Nearly got my hands on two, both were one owners always garaged etc. The second one was an auto but absolutely immaculate.. anit any more thanks to cust springs, chrome dumpy tip muffler and an idiot. (did i mention his idea of fixing rust is just putting more paint ontop of the rust). Problem seems to be when left outside you can hear these cars start to rust the moment it starts to rain.
