Postby d1 mule » Thu Mar 18, 2010 7:50 pm

quick question,

does the oil flow out the center where the oil filter screws on or out the outside??

reason being just had my engine rebuilt due to run as bearings so dont want it to happen again

cheers

had the same problem, from memory it goes back in the center.

best way is to set it up and use the oil pump to pump it thru your lines with the coils off till it comes thru.

oil gets filtered before going to anything else.
you could prime it if your really worried
but if its been properly rebuilt it'll have lube on all the bearing surfaces already.

another thing to do is unplug the injectors and crank it till you have oil pressure. then plug them in and away you go

oil flows from the oil pump to the outer part of the filter and then back into the block from the centre of the filter
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
