And there was one where the cops accused me of driving around in my primera down paeroa with no rego no wof.... sent me a fine. But of course the cop didn't really have hard evidence, so they what they do best, just send me a fine anyway, meet quota, and sort it out later.

They should ban all imitation plates. Last thing I want is someone with those plates do some skids, remembered the 1's as I's and zeros as O's, sees my car in town and proceed to throw bottles at it.

One of the stupider ones I've seen was a poorly done imitation of a friends personalised plate from a Mini he had under restoration.

They put it on another Mini and drove past a speed camera in the same town as he lived in.

So he got a ticket in the mail for a car sitting in 1000 bits in his garage with no engine.

He ordered the photo.

The plate had obviously been faked, the writing was on the piss etc. So he pointed that out, and showed that his car was a different car entirely, and in fact under restoration, so they cancelled the ticket.

The three people in the car were all shown perfectly and in great detail.

They then later joined the same Mini club as he belonged to.

I wonder if he ever told them that he knew they tried to set him up with the Police ...

Ah yes I remember that now I don't think I would be able to control my language towards such stupidity if I had got that letter. I;d be straight on the phone wanting to speak to the person in charge of that case and would then proceed to rip them a new one for being so f**king dumb. Surely in that job line you would need to be able to read? I mean 0 and O when on plates are totally different haha.

As for your hate for imitation plates, build a bridge man Ban try hard plates while you're at it and there won't be many left.

I trust you have given all the info to the cops about how they are NO LONGER YOUR PLATES.

A work friend of mine didn't report his plates missing till 3 days after they had been used as a drive off. It took about 18 months and a court appearance for him to finally be let off the charge - even though he had people to back up the story he was in Palmerston North at the time the petrol was stolen (I think) in napier!

Just a slotted screw driver at a guess. They will go in easy, but the shape will make it harder for them to be turned the other way.

yep just a flathead screwdriver to put those screws in, are far harder to get out, well quickly and reasonably undamaging anyways


my plate that was riveted onto my front bumper got yanked off! maybe it needs added electrocution
