4agze power drop fix

Postby toyotaspeed » Thu Mar 25, 2010 9:17 pm

Hey guys

I know many of you have the problem with the ae101 gtz power dip after 5500rpm. Tonight i switch to an ae92 map ecu and there is no evidence of the power drop. Stocked with how well this worked, pulls hard to the redline now. So if your sick of the drop hunt down an ae92 ecu well worth it!

Did you swap everything over? Or just ECU?

Yea this is a recommended fix on the Toymods forums.
Another way to get around the problem is to swap the knock sensor for the 7MGTE one, less sensitive.

prolly that yukky capacitor problem....

mines been $&#$% with sooo much prolly an issue of over sensitive knock too, cause mine on 14psi with av gas still had boost issues clutch turning off and timming backing off

I had an AE92 MP GZE and it pulls very cleanly to the redline, dont know what changed in the AE101.

Had a slipping belt though.
Tightend the belt and reran it made 102kw ATW.

Backing off the IGN timing via the CAS fixed it on my old MAP 4agze.

Which would possibly fit the sensitive knocksensor theory.

It works, just make sure both applications are MAP.

The research I did ages ago said that the pin-out were different.

yeah it was out of a mates late map AE92 gtz. The car was running well he just stripped for parts.

plugged it in and wouldnt run, read somewhere later the pin-outs where differant so brought Ae101 gtz ecu and it fired up first pop.
