Mate I don't no if very many people no who Dave is on this forum hazard to say I would call him Mr.Supra as he's owned as many as 20 MKIV's since I 've known him and in every guise from stock to BPU to highly modified I don't think there's anyone in NZ that comes close to him when it comes to these cars.

Pretty sure I heard the commentator say it did a 1:15 with (I think) Jono Lester driving. Looked very rapid

biiiiig difference between a 19 and a 15. its gets exponentially harder to gain every second under 1:20 there.

Jono Lister and Earl Bamber both did a best lap of 1.12.6 and a 12.7 they thought the car was great but they reckon the only way to improve it is extensive weight saving and brand new rubber. With those to things in place they think a mid to high 11 would be the optimal time for that car in there hands of course.

Now its upto the owner to see what he can do in it I think eventually he'll get down in that 1.13 second range.

10 year old slicks I SH*T you not they were old school Tranzam tyres from back in the day they cost him between $50-$100 bucks each. But all the same I think he's really happy with the result and now know's what the car is capable of and it'll no doubt be at your GTR day next year for sure.

Dave also mentioned the Drifters cakked the track and when Jono Lister went out for his last run to try and win the class he said that the condition of the track was no good and he could'nt find the time he needed to try and win the event.

Speaking to Scott with the EP71 Starlet, he wasn't impressed with having to go out after the drifters. Infact while standing there talking he was pealing rubber off his car
