Trans flush

Postby B_giB » Tue Mar 30, 2010 9:02 am

I know I should do a search, but the day is not going my way so far.

I want to do a trans flush on the Altezza without going to a trans shop.

Its auto, Can I run just some cheap ATF fluid for a few hundred KM's to do so? or will it damage the trans?

And how important is using the genuine toyota trans fluid? I have been told it is vital to run genuine only, but then get told that generic fluid is fine.

A trans flush is quite different to just draining the fluid and refilling.

What are you trying to achieve?

I know a workshop that has a trans flush machine and will do it pretty cheap if I call em and say that i'll send whoever over.

How much does trans shops charge anyway?

Pm me if you want me to make a call. They're in Henderson/west auckland.

I will soon. Just pricing up. I have a sharp price on pads and rotors from repco, but not to sure if they will supply the right parts as they seemed unsure on what the car has after I told them, almost like they think I am wrong. But Nick at NST gave me some pricing, know anyone with a hydrolic press to do a few bushes?
