i had thought about rewiring the ae101 fusebox but i can't find any diagrams of whats underneath it all to figure out what i need to splice into the ae111 loom from the engine. does anyone know where i can get one?or even if someone has a pic of the top of a ae101 fusebox? (mine has been worn out)
little bit hesitant about just wiring up same/similar colours without knowing what they are.
re speed sensor, what was the issue there?i had thought the speed sensor comes (from gbox) through the BT loom to the ecu and then goes to the dash from there?
i think that will see me through to the end of the week once i have refined my soldering skills. lol still waiting for engine crane though!!

Here are the following things you will need to watch out:
As far as I know the actual path of speed signal is: speed sensor->speedo (that converts low level signal to proper square wave) -> ECU.
As for the fuse box, the pic from the top will not help, as the plugs under are in no way related to what the relay fuse above it is.
There is whole network of interconnects sandwiched between where the relays/fuses plug in to where the plugs under go.
What you will need to splice into your loom/fusebox is not a lot:
Alternator related stuff (including main 100A wire, which is very obvious) - ~3 wires in total.
AC and fan related wires (if you have AC). I am not sure, but most likely you will need to do something about two pumps being incompatible. Retaining AC could be night mare if you are not comfortable to going to library and photocopying whole bunch of diagrams off AE10X Corolla manual. Alternatively you can buy AE10X Corolla repair manual that will help you a lot (they sell them at repco).
possumr has one (search in TS members), he might sell you at discounted price. Although I am not sure if it covers AE10X but AE9X should be close enough (even my ST16X-ST18X manual is close enough for random wiring jobs on odd toyotas).
If you look at the engine loom side of the fuse box, there is not a lot of wires coming in (~10-15).
The most difficult bit will be matching body loom side (from inside of the car).
