Postby tsoob » Wed Apr 07, 2010 1:11 pm

What would you recommend using to hold it in?

The bumper is fiberglass so i don't want screw it in.

Maybe something like sellys liquid nails?

Whatever you do, do it right. Double sided tape?  Rangi au

I used a 2 part glue to put mine in. Just folded the mesh close to the bodykit, then put a good blob of that stuff on every so often. Hasn't budged at all and has been there for years.

It is a cosmetic mesh.
The right double sided tape is better than glue.
Most of factory mouldings are on double sided tape.

and generally side mouldings have a lot more surface area for adhesion. Polyurethane will do the trick. Depends on if you want it to come out later.

i do love sikaflex but maybe a bit expensive for just sticking mesh on,
if the liquid nails will bond to the glass ok then i'd use that,
at $12 a tube you could go crazy with it,

just watch the solvent liquid nails on one's hands. Its an absolute bitch to get off, so use gloves. A friend uses it for his sub boxes and every time, he gets it on his hands and takes weeks to remove.

Sikaflex 252 is teh structural bonding polyurethane. Requires mechanical removal (ie grind it out) to remove it lol.

- For using adhesives, rough up section where adhesive will go - allows for better bond between surface and adhesive.
- Then clean up so there are no particles to interfere between surface and adhesive.
- Wet rag and clean as you go for best finish.
- If you are putting item under tension, use wax paper between clamp and adhesive for easy removal of clamp and clean finish.

I know what you mean! Gorilla Grip as well...holy $#!+ literally weeks before it comes off. Any attempt and it will not budge. You just sort of have to peel it as it becomes available.

Yup All Fix is the best solution first up. Cheap and good.
