5efe mods

Looking at getting a 5efe to play around with soon.
Thinking maybe, quad throttles and some decent headers.

Will the quad throttles run alright with the stock ecu and is there anything else that is worth doing to these motors?

cheers

rather not turbo to start with. going in a much lighter chassis than normal, so dont need to go too crazy.

Aah ok. If you havn't got the engine yet, try and find a 5E-FHE. Has a bit more go out of the box

I'm pretty sure the 5e-fhe is a high compression variant. I've also seen some (possibly the fhe's?) with a dual runner ACIS system, which would be a nice to have.

Yep 5E-FHE = high compression. ACIS is nice too :D All-round they're a better engine than the 5E-FE

unless its a tiny little chassis when your sitting at 1500cc you might as well move to A series..... 5efs are hard to get hold of...

you can usually just plonk an a series in there

5efe = 9.4:1 5efhe = 9.8:1, better cams, better rods and like above have the ACIS mani which works quite well. Theyre quite peppy in something light like a ep71 starlet.

the E blocks are quite a lot smaller and lighter so for something as small as a Mini I'd definitely pick the 5E over the 4A. Having said that, I'd probably actually pick something like a 1000cc bike engine :)

There is one around with B16B turbo too. I would think that car is 0-death in $&#$% all seconds.
