Ok i will disconnect the battery tomorrow morning to clear fault before i take it to work, i hate to say it but hopefully it comes back....... i found the cam sensor its covered in oil from a leak the rocker cover use to have, along with the plug and wire, i have now fixed the oil leak tho. I could get a oscilloscope maybe, think i have one at work tucked away collecting dust. dunno if it still goes or if all the bits there for it

Also what is the resistance of the cam sensor (G2+-> Earth)?

what do i check resistance across the two terminals or each terminal and to earth.

(One thing i did notice with both the cam pos sensor and crank sensor the wire from the sensor to plug is very stiff like like the outer sheathing has burnt and gone brittle but im sure this won't affect the copper inside sheathing?.) Thanks

oops my mistake, it's not earthed . Measure it across the two terminals.

IIRC the sheathing is usually very stiff, but if it's damaged I suppose it could affect the shielding which could give rise to extraneous signal noise. That is what an oscilloscope would tell you.

I believe i've had this problem you are describing in the past. I had a few misses i believe while at a gental cruising speed about 2000 RPM and i had 1 happen while sitting idle in trafic and it caused a complete stall.

Unfortunatly you have already tried my solution which was giving it some new plugs. I went with iridium plugs and it hasn't happened in a year and a half. So I guess thats where my problem was.

My info doesn't look like much help to you as your problem continues after a plug swap but i think you're on the right track by looking at the coil packs next.
