Oxy sensor on red top

Postby petrolhead » Tue Apr 20, 2010 9:02 pm

hi guys. i have just fitted a set of 20v headers to my red top and found oxy sensor hole is a totally different setup (20v has a screw in type further down the header, read top has a bolt on flange). Does anyone know whether you can wire the screw type in, as well as extending the loom to reach the hole further back? cheers

off topic but, that seems a bit weird, i've had 3 silvertops, all with the flange type oxy sensors, is this a facelift/prefacelift thing?

As far as I am aware 20v are flange type (and 4 wire). Plugs differ between blacktops and silvertop.

Ahh forgot to mention they could be aftermarket headers. 8) hmm.. might get a flange welded to exhaust. Spare sump plug filling hole at the mo.

One of my co-workers uses a bosch universal 4 wire oxy sensor in his silvertop. If thats any help at all. But i take it the loom still has a 1 wire plug?

Try pick a part for oxy sensors off camry's or celicas i think most have 1 wire screw type that will fit.

one more tip do not cut the oxy wire before the plug if you need to change it. It's not a typical wire inside and cutting can change the behaviour of the oxy reading

Yeah i know but from what i gather is that the head is a silver top while the remainder is the original redtop loom included i'm asuming, or did i miss something?
