Caldina GT-T question

Postby camof11 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 11:24 pm

Hi there, my Caldina has finally arrived! I bought one of the optional green info screens that sits above the centre air vents from a wrecker as mine only has a storage compartment. When i removed the compartment i saw a blue plug behind but it doesnt fit the info screen. My experience with Toyota cars is that most of the cars have all of the optional extras wired but just not used. Is there another little additional loom i need that will link the blue plug to the info screen?
Could someone who has one of these installed possibly check behind there unit for me? Or someone who is wrecking a Caldina?

Here is the part i am trying to fit

Hi there

There should be a white plug the is closely attached to the plug for the clock coming off the loom. This wasn't present in my caldina until i had done a re-wire with another loom from a car that must have had the travel computer.

You could go to the trouble of finding one of the dash looms that has this plug however after i tried this unit in my car it didn't last long before the normal compartment box re-took its place.

There's a little animated piston displayed on the LCD.

By the way did these things ever come out in english? Because mine is completely Japanese hence why i went back to just the compartment box.

if you are really dead set on getting this to work in your car I probably have a dash loom that would have the plug to fit this. But it will take up some time pulling the whole dash out to switch out the loom. in my opinion it's not worth all that trouble unless you can read Japanese.

The blue plug you mentioned did that have a cap on the end of it covering the pins? because there should actually be two of these plugs and niether have anything to do with this unit.

No im not all that fussed with putting it in, i have one here and thought i would see whats involved with getting it working. When i saw the blue plug behind the dash i thought there must have been a little loom that plugs into the blue plug then into the back of the unit.
But there's no way ill be removing the dash or re-wiring anything.

Thanks for the reply's and info.
