braided brake line interchangability (ae92/GTT --> ae101)

Postby touge_ae101 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 6:25 pm

hey guys.

looking at getting my brakes in now. got some GTT caldina calipers coming this week so need to start sorting out brake lines. wanting to go braided and going to cost a shade under $300 to get them made.

soo looking for a cheaper option like some of these: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 325959.htm

does anyone know whether the ae92 or GTT caldina has roughly the same dimensions as the ae101 non SS??. here are some pics of mine.

doesn't matter if they are longer cable ties can fix that. :lol:

did a google image search and they looked like they might fit but just wanting to see if anyone has any experience with this?

the ae92 brake lines are fixed to the shock body with a clip like how the top of the hose is attatched to the chassis in your pic

EDIT: (just re-read).
not bothered about the shock mount, the bracket can be adjusted to fit. heard of some guys cutting the brakeline mount off and making a new one the attaching with hoseclamps and gets through wofs/certs fine.

that was from race brakes in auckland. $281 incl gst for front 2.

are the GTT fittings different to the ae111 twin pot fittings?your wagon is superstrut isn't it so you have quite short lines?
