Caldina GTT rear rotor removal?

Postby cedwards » Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:49 pm

hey all,
how do you get the brake shoes to release from the inside drum, have dropped handbrake and unwound adjustment bolt all the way, is there something to do with the small rubber bung on the rotor?
any help appreciated!

it's an integrated disk/drum, disk brakes for regular braking, drum for the handbrake, same as virtually all medium to high spec cars from the T series chassis since the mid-late 80's (i.e. st16x, st17x, st18x, st19x, st20x, st21x...)

to answer the original question - it can be bloody hard. Given it a good whack with a rubber mallet?

sorted!
Wound the adjuster inside the drum all the way back in, thanks to fivebob's diagram on snotoy's post.
slipped off like a dream.
Now to find out if they are worth machining.

Just get new ones, they aren't that expensive in the long run. Also saves you getting new ones next year.
