the drop between 4 and 5 is there without a boost spike before it

ah yeh, do those versions run acis? (im not a 3s guy) would explain it,

acis manifold on e series does the same thing. not really that it causes a dip, just that they make more power down low and up high over a normal inlet. they go a bit flat before the switch over point

Even custom intake manifold doesn't change it, hence i believe it is a head flow thing.

That would be the worst method for accurate comparision of HP, there are too may variables like tyres, track condition, driver ability etc etc etc.

I would disagree to some extent. Any muppet can make a reasonably clean start and just hammer the power down. As long as you don't miss any gears your trap speed should be very similar.

I have run 14 second 1/4s with 110mph trap speed. Along with 12 second 1/4s with 110mph trap speed. Your tyres and track conditions mean sweet fanny adams once you are rolling.

That big spike half way through....that's what you can sometimes get with detonation, the ECU pulls the timing back and it starts climbing again. A bit less timing will probably fix it or a bit more octane.
They're supposed to run on 100RON?
The boost spike would have caused a bit of knock.Overall numbers maybe down due to timing pull.

exactly what i'm talking about, have done it myself too. it's physics. it takes X amount of power to propel X amount of weight to X speed within the fixed distance. all of the variables that i've seen mentioned will effect ET and any effect on trap speed will be within a much closer tolerance than the difference that i've seen some dynos produce.

there are many calculators on the net that will work around this same principle. here's a mathematical formula for the calculation

Net HP = Weight in pounds* (Speed in MPH/228.4)^3

So i just got the car re - tuned and it came up as 150kw atw.

My mechanic ended up putting a wastegate restrictor on (not sure exactly what he did), he said it was due to the valve not opening up quick enough on the wastegate, causing to spike.
