Who knows 80s corollas?

Postby AE82 FXGT » Mon May 03, 2010 8:40 pm

Hey all, a friend of mine is after some (I think ee80, is that used for the 4 door?) corolla bits, namely the LHF guard, indicator and headlight.

My Q is are these front bits the same as the hatches or different?

Also what is the chassis code for this?

Wikipedia says in aus/jap the FWD 4 doors were AE80, AE81, AE82
But europe says EE80.

I havent actually had a look at the car yet, otherwise I'd just look.

It is simpler than that
EE8X came out with E series engine
AE8X came out with A series engine
the second number (X) can show chassis config and can be very misleading.
As for the suspension, many bits will be interchangeable, while body bits not so, you can have AE82 Sedan, AE82 Hatch, AE82 Liftback and between those body panels and lights will be different.

you need to get the lens number as there is a long and a short corner light (in corolla alone, without looking at sprinters) and about 4 different headlights.
