i think the facelift has VVTi and also an electric front lip spoiler thingy.
Don't get a vvti if you want to do many mods. Otherwise it would be totally sweet to have a vvti 2j

Yeah i've heard that, kinda weird that they make more aftermarket bits for the non vvti
Since Genuine turbo manuals seem to be pretty thin on the ground are the differances enough to worry about getting a facelift? or just find a good one and run with it

To be honest, the easiest and cheapest option is to find a Tidy 96+ facelift SZ-R which has the V161 6spd box, torsen LSD, turbo sized brakes. and either put a GTE into it or turbo the N/A motor. The price difference means you have a lot of money to play with ($10K or more)
