Using the link default map
last time I made a car do that was when i had the sparkplug leads on back to front ie. i had #1 lead on #4 cylinder etc. I had incorrectly assumed that #1 cylinder was at the flywheel end of the engine.
there will be 2 sync's on the cas. are you using the one that is closest to lining up when the engine is at tdc?
The G4's do not come with a base map from memory.
they come with some numbers in there, but it is in normally not capable of starting an engine.
i have a map that might get you going. will be far from ideal tho

When you set the cam timing did you notice that as well as the marks on the top of the cams lining up with the camshaft cover,
the dot and line need to meet in the middle of the two cams,
as there are two marks on each cam.

What's it off? Might be worth a try.
what cams are they? they would have to be complete knob heads to cut the slot wrong.
how is the ignition set up? waste spark? two twin coils? i once plugged the wrong twin and caused awesome fire balls out the intake too.
