st205 wheel spacer

Postby ihavelift » Wed May 19, 2010 4:37 pm

hey all, so ive had a problem with the mags i'm running needing spacers to clear the calipers which push the rim out too far, and the 225 tyres rub on the guards under hard cornering/bumps.

went to autolign on lincoln road this afternoon, the guy i spoke to said i am running "inch" spacers (35mm approx?), with a 5x100 pattern.

He used some device to measure this and that, and said i can go to a 5x100 15mm spacer. Can anybody say if this is right or not? seems like a bit of a drastic jump and there is about 13-14mm space between the rim spoke and the caliper as it stands now. Anybody able to shed some light on this?

Here's a couple of pics if it helps (needs clean asap haha):

that would make sense, inch = 25mm, 25-10= 15, so you will still have 3mm clearance between caliper and wheels. :D

ok cool, my conversion was all messed up, in my mind 1 inch = 35mm haha.

all good.

What about the 5x100 part? what is standard stud pattern on an st205?

Am i after 15mm 5x100 spacers? if so where can people suggest i get them? would rather not try trademe - don't like using it for things on my car, always a bit too risky

5x100 is GT4 pattern.
standard offset is 48 with 7 1/2 " wide rims

both DPR and CPA in wellies do wheel spacer made from billet steel. they would be my pick.

Edit: get hold of Al at driven he will sort you out their products are of decent quality in my experience. think they might even be a TS sponsor so

at a guess i doubt they would be 400bux though!

just so i don't make a mistake, does anybody know what stud pattern these rims are? 5x100, same as the st205 stud pattern? or am i after adapter spacers to 5x114.3 or something?

here's a better pic of the mag:

when you take those spacers off the front you should chuck them on the rear!wheel looks a bit lonely from this angle, needs to get up close and personal with panel!haha

google is your friend:

  glad to hear!

depends, RG, like most wheels are made in a variety of different stud patterns and offsets. can get 4x114 etc etc. easiest thing to do is to go and measure the wheel nuts centre to centre (as accurately as you can)
but you should easily be able to figure it out cause it will be either 5x100 or 5x114.

i'd say you could get away with another 25mm in the rear without rolling gaurds. 25mm isn't much when you look from a distance.

even if you get slight rubbage just sort it out with a heat gun and a soft rubber mallet.
