4efte into vitz

Postby fat_ae111 » Tue May 18, 2010 4:48 pm

I'm looking for an easier option to get my vitz up there...
You guys may ask; why don't you get a ep91?
Well i had one. I want something unique.

would 4efte fit in fine? I would have to change the gearbox right?

It would take major modifications to fit it in the vitz.
You are far better off turboing vitz (unless it is 1.0).

Easier than what!?

I doubt it would be that hard to make one fit.
I am not sure, but fairly sure that the bellhousing pattern is different so prob best to start with a complete 4efte engin and box.
You would need to see if the shaftshave the same spline etc.

Put a 20v 4age in it. In China in the vitz race series, there are a couple of them using blacktop engines in it. The way they made it fit was running open trumpets.

Let me see if I can find a link to it!

it seams to me that you have alot of ideas floating around in your head from super charging to turboing to this

my advice would be to sit down, really think what you want from this bulid and go that way

turboing your std engine would be one way, but still you would be looking at an easy $2g+ bill do do it properly

what i would do would be some sweet fcr carbs nice re-bulid and a healthy cam and pillage the snot out of it for max raddness

like this k11 march

you know my idea is the best

For $3k you won't get far installing a 4EFTE into a Vitz (properly) and getting it running (properly). Sell the Vitz, add your $3000 - buy something that meets the criteria you want. Being different for the sake of being different rarely ends well.......especially in the wallet department.

Trade it on a Vitz RS 1500
See if you can find a complete turbo/sc kit for 3k
Spend your 3k on your other car, assuming it's a project.
Save your $$

Not trying to place any "stupid replies". Just telling you how it is from someone that's been in the same position. You'll waste a lot of money trying to make a car something it isn't. For $3k you can buy an EP82 GT and keep the vitz as your daily. I know you want to be "different" but is it really worth spending $5k+ on a ~8k[?] car to make it just as good (if not worse) as a 20 year old Starlet worth $3k in the first place? If you want a turbo Vitz you'd be better off trying to find a Vitz RS Turbo IMO

I completely agree with this one. 'being different' isn't always cool. Theres probably many reasons why people DON't DO IT.

Unless of course you're a mad mechanic, and love fabricating stuff + can do everything yourself. In that case it could be worth doing just for the sheer ability to be able to look at something mental, and say "I spent 1600 hours building that MOFOs".

if the man wants to be different, then let him be cause lets be honest, being the same as everyone else is boring. If u want to spend ur 3k on ur vitz and u can justify and live with it, then go hard mate...

Yup for sure its all good to be different, but no-one wants to see the guy blow $3k on a car and give up halfway through cause its harder/more expensive than first thought.

thats why i said if he can JUSTIFY spending his 3k on it, then go ahead. Im sure he will sit down and work it out and think hard before spending his money.

with regards to "ur" - sorry my mistake, just a txt habit really and haven't had an issue with it on any other forum so didnt think it was a big deal but i will abide to the rules.
