Odd Caldina diagnostic code (78)

Postby speedracer07 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 4:32 am

quick question for you guys... I got the codes out of the ecu (shorted the diagnostic port and counted the flashes). The one I don't know is code 78. Anybody come accross that one before?

I know in some American car's code 78 is service engine soon... does the caldina has some sort of a service engine light that this triggered?

Also are the codes the same as the gen2 gen3 3s-gte codes?

thanks

There is no code 78 listed anywhere in my manuals, the only codes in the 70s are related to the auto trans ECU but even then there is no "78".

Codes are basically the same as the Gen2-Gen3 with some minor differences, mainly in the codes to do with the coils.

Are you 100% sure you got the right code?

Yes, checked it a couple times... apparently a bunch of ST-215 swaps over here are getting it. I've been told it's "nothing to worry about" but I'm not sure... clearly the ECU thinks something is up.

It's not triggering a dash light, it's only when I check for codes do I find it.
