Try using the search on the forum, you're not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd person to ask this

It'll burn oil, it'll idle high, and it'll rattle like a tractor, probably the 3 most common complaints you'll get.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

mines done 230k and burns quite a large ammount of oil, approx 1l per 1000km

Pretty sure my rings are stuffed as it smokes a bit at high revs. Also smells rather hot after driving it and leaks a bit of oil aswell. Windscreen wiper on drivers side also doesnt like wiping all of the window, bit of a pain when its raining. Also check headlights, mine SUCK, not sure if others are the same.

Would have to say my 1991 ae101 is the best car ive EVER had, most reliable and economical car ive owned, goes reasonably ok and handles pretty good with stuffed shocks and never had any dramas

Cost me $500 all legal and is rough as, but its like a fat chick, not much to look at but when it comes down to business always does the job.

In my mind the best car EVER for a daily that i dont care about, just make sure it has oil cool and and gas in it and its away, might even clean it once every month or two if it doesnt rain much

haha sounds good to me. i think if i pick it up i may invest some time into pulling it apart and putting some new rings into it, check clearances etc while im there. i generally enjoy pissing around like that so it should be fun!

sprinter - is that a sedan?

I have an '93 ae101 levin (coupe).. the clear coat on top is going on it? not sure if this is just a problem for levins or for all of that era?

+1 for the 20v typical issues - burning oil etc.

should make a damn good runabout!

btw considered the functionality of the boot of an fxgt? just found the hatchback of the girlfriends car better for moving flat?

The high idle problem is usually due to the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE and normally they just need the carbon cleaned out of them

Or ECU fault, which is just as common

It looks like i will be getting an AE111 BZG levin instead now, the deal fell through with the sprinter unfortunatly!

I have heard the capacitors in the ECUs are prone to leaking, i suppose i will bust open the ecu and have a little looksie, shouldnt be too hard to fit a new capacitor or two if i have too.'

Yay an excuse to use a solder sucker! (Have never actually used it yet!)
