Megameet - Ferry / Road trip up

Post in here if you plan to make the trip up, when you think you will head up and when you will come back. Probably not a silly idea to look at booking ferry spots now so we don't miss out later or get stuck with bad crossing times.

So the more info you can provide the better.

I haven't worked out when to go either yet, but possibly the below: (prices will vary depending on company)

Trip up - finishing at lunch time friday
Friday depart Piction: 6.05pm (arrive 9.15pm) $245 car + 2 people

Return trip - take the extra day off Tuesday
Tuesday depart Wellington 8.25am (arrive 11.35am) $220 car + 2 people

Thoughts? Suggestions?

i was doing my schedule for leaving Timaru at 3pm, grabbing anyone from CHCH riding shotgun, and grabbing the graveyard crossing at 3am.
get to wellington in time for a powersleep, then scrutineering.
do skids, then on to Palmy-ish.
cross back over tuesday sometime.

all dependant on getting paying passengers and giving the Levin a birthday.

As that means i can leave home about 7ish , Im planning on taking the friday off, but wont be coming back on that date, Im going to stay up north for the rest of the week. but im real keen to have a convoy of us cruising up there

my plans are very much subject to change, having been bitten by the gravel bug again, i might save my pennies for the Coast in early Nov, as i can't see the car being ready for Catlins in late July
