option for caldina o2 sensor

Postby speedracer07 » Thu Jun 17, 2010 11:02 am

Does anyone one know of any other toyota car o2 sensor's that work in the st-215 3s-gte? I think I need a new o2 sensor and sourcing this part locally 89465‑21030 would be difficult.

alternatively does anyone know of a denso part number or universal part number that will work?

thanks!!

I had a mate rebuid mine after the vechicle testing dude broke it. They come apart fairly easy, & not hard to soilder.

Other than that I hear they are a standard part across most toyota models so wouldn't expect one to be hard to find.

that's what I figure'd but I was wondering about the resistance readings that sometimes vary between o2 sensors (or so I understand?)

The Caldina O2 sensor screw's in so would the universal denso one's work without modification? The mr2 one's have a flange and 2 bolt's.

I was worried about resistance changes after soildering the sensor, but after connecting the car to a scan tool all the readings were in line with expectations.

I'd suggest you just try it - you'll know fairly quick whether it works or not.

I'd suggest resetting the EFI once you do it too.

We have a Toyota sponsor on the board, you could email them as they may be able to source you one and get it sent out your ways.

You should never solder any connections on an Oxygen Sensor!

A Bosch sensor "0258986617" will do the same job for this aplication.

If you PM me you Email I can flick you a PDF list of toyotas that use the same sensor.
