you do need the gearbox side driveshaft out at least. i would recommend removing them both for ease of reinstallation, particularly if you are doing it on the ground. i presume you have everything else disconnected too? shifter cables, plugs etc
there will be a couple of dowels its now hanging on, along with the input shaft so may take some persuasion to get it out.
most times you will need some way to support the engine, since any engine mounts connected to the gearbox will need to come off. and a way to lower the engine helps too, as most times you'll need a bit of angle to clear the box past the chassis rail.
