I've been looking at 1JZ VVTi cars since my Aristo decided to get gay on me (rear steering rack!!!)

But, with the nice cold weather, the car is farken hauling arse as of late (all be it a bit wobbly in the back end).

On paper the VVTi motor is a damn good setup, with peak torque coming lower than the 2JZ and peak power coming higher in the revs than the 2JZ, plus the car itself (JZX110 Mark II) being lighter than the V300 Aristo.

BUT... The 2JZ just has so much torque. I was thinking about selling my Aristo, but now I think I'll keep hold of it.

depends on the car the engine is sourced from. jzx100 has a different dash to zx90 series so will require toning one of the ecu plugs out. If the car the engine comes out of is automagic then there will be some more wires going to the dash for the gear indicator etc

It feels good on the road. You dont really notice the dip in power between turbos and the torque is just awsome!

Yep, but my Aristo has done about 10-11 km/litre going down to Hamilton, no cruise control, no air con, (no seat warmers )

Not too bad, but not fantastic.

Around town and using for work I'm getting around 7ish km/litre, maybe even less sometimes

yeah i'm not thinking economy compared to a prius, but rather compared to my gze. 7km/l around town is pretty similar
