Blacktop into AE82

First off, yes I have used the search function, each search is putting out 2-3000 results, which is not ideal for finding an answer.

Would someone be able to point me in the direction of a good run down on putting a Blacktop into an AE82.

At the moment its had a dodgey as small port conversion, so the wiring is like a birds nest, ideally I'd like to buy a complete loom for the conversion, but looking for opinions first.

The second consideration is what to do to the blacktop before putting it in. Definitely keen to go to silvertop rods and a new cambelt and new piston rings while its all apart. Will I see much benefit from anything else such as a valve grind or new bearings?

Also if anyone could point me to an extensive build thread of such a conversion that would be great.

First off If you read the brief instructions on how to use the search (they are on the same page as the search box) then you will find all sorts of info including members projects and other info. You will not however get 2-3000 results. Closer to 59 in fact.

Not sure how descriptive it is (havent read it in a while) but its a bloody awesome car in my opinion.

fit ae82 engine mount to blacktop, bolt on a c52/c56 gearbox with ae82 mounts and axle stubs.

you'll need a different top radiator hose, mine was from a commodore.
Just chop up some old hoses, duct tape them together to form the required shape,go to an auto store and look for something the same shape/size.

Get an ae82 and blacktop engine loom, strip out the unneccesary wires/plugs and splice them together, no need to alter the fuse box or any other wiring on the car.
