WTD: CT series turbo information (move to tech please)

Basically i am after any info in regards to ct series turbos.
Mainly what is interchangable with ct20/26, possibly even maps if they are available.

AFAIK there's nothing interchangable between a ct20b and a ct26, although their external interfaces with other parts (manifold flanges etc) are almost identical. I have never seen flow maps for any Toyota turbos, and unless someone has been independently testing them recently, I don't think you'll find any.

You can fit a ct20b compressor wheel to a ct26 (slightly larger) with a bit of work. Never seen a map for a CT turbo and doubt that's ever gonna change.

ct26 bearing housing is a great upgrade for a ct15b

I'm not too concerned about the CT20b.

I was just curious as to whether anyone had taken a CT20 from a 2L-T and used other CT parts to make something higher flowing.

I assumed you were talking about the ct20b since you were also asking about ct26s, my bad

The CT20 out of the 2l-T/TE is a junker really,

but you are asking the question, i have used the CT26 MR2 compressor wheel as an upgrade for the CT20,

The Supra CT26 Compressor wheel is good upgrade on the Celica/MR2 CT26 and it looks stock.

The 48mm CT20 Turbine wheels can be used in the 2jzgte Turbos as a steel replacement.

Compressor maps.... good luck on that one. Toyota have never let them slip out. people have taken the equlivant sized TB03 compressor maps and used that.

The only decent CT Turbo is the ST205/ Gen 3-5 MR2 "CT20b" toyota got that one mostly right.

Choice, so it is possible to bolt on the compressor side of a CT26 to a CT20?

Or would i insert the CT26 wheel into the CT20 housing and get it machined to suit?

Correct, the CT26 Comp wheel will go on the CT20 shaft, you just have to machine the bearing housing & compressor cover to suit.

Choice, since this is all about budget build is it possible to put the complete CT26 compressor side onto a CT20?


After some more reading about the 2l-t CT20 some people clip the exhaust wheel as it seems to choke the engine at higher rpm's.

What are your thoughts on this Chris?
