Yeah - the BZG could be optioned up to BZR basically - there are heaps floating around with 6 speeds (although most don't have LSD somehow) and as others have said there are BZR with auto (which is just wrong).

Yeah true but if i had the choice of a bzg with lsd and a bzr with lsd id take the bzg. Those 6 speed boxes in the bzr just arnt that good and have a crap rep. and there is no other difference between the two cars, just the pricetag and for what? There is f all difference and the differences are both cons.

Do you have facelift or non facelift BZG? Cosmetic differences make quite a difference too. Lights / interior / bigger wing for people into that  i'm sure the 6 speeds are fine if you don't abuse them, 5 speeds just take more abuse that's all.

Honestly - that's all that really matters in this age of the "Boy Racer" laws etc.

So the engine's almost broken in :D.

Keep an eye on oil consuption - esp. if you're revving it high. My BZ Wagon would need topping up every 1,500kms or so when it up around 140kms - 180kms. Seems to be relatively normal though.

Want me to send you the orginal Toyota sale catalogue that says BZR comes in Auto? In jap though. PM me your e-mail!

I don't know alot about pre-facelift, but for facelift:

BZR - superstrut standard, LSD, factory sideskirt, factory alloy, factory big wing, twin pot brakes and optional recaro. Came in auto, but auto boxes are open diff.

BZG - non-superstrut, open diff, no sideskirt or big wing and came in steelies (unless Option up).

All facelift that came with 20v are 6 speed.

When I say "which is just wrong" I mean that having a 20v BZR with an auto trans seems a bit .. well.. "wrong", not that it didn't happen.
